Our teams kick off the new year with some exciting play and we already have our first championships of the season!

11 BOYS | 1st Place

CHAMPIONS! Saturday our 11 Boys team played in the 12U Girls Division of the Fusion/IAM Open at the new I AM Facility! Coming off of a strong appearance at the Reindeer Rumble where they came up short in the semi final the boys were determined not fall short again. They came out strong against G-Force and MVP winning both matches in 2 sets 25-9, 25-17 and 25-13, 25-13. Strong serving led the way with the team racking up 33 total aces in the first 2 matches with Cole responsible for 12 alone! Our final pool play matchup was against FVP - pulling out a tough 3 set win that set up an matchup against IAM 12 White in the semi final. Another tough 3 set win where we needed a comeback service run of 8 points from AJ in the 3rd set. The boys showed extreme resilience in the championship match - after losing the first set 18-25 they came storming back behind strong serving from Connor and won the 2nd set 25-7! The deciding 3rd set the boys showed determination to get their first Tournament Championship this season! We are so proud of how all the boys are learning and growing - their focus and hard work are paying off. As coaches we can’t wait to see where this team will be at the end of the season! 🏐

12 BLACK | 1st Place

The 12 Black team had a great Sunday up at the barn in Menasha. We started the day with a loss against FC elite 12 Navy but came back face them again in the championship game (4-1). I AM pulled out the win for a 1st place tshirt! Olivia gets another overkill pass pin this week along with a serving pin, Aalysah and Greta earned more serving pins, and MVP goes to Arabella for her team spirit and defense in the championship game. Great job this weekend!

15 GOLD

15 Gold played in the Fusion Open this past weekend, and what a long day it was! We started off with a three-set loss but had a great second game to win in two sets! The third game was another tough one, and we lost in three. The fourth game of the day was one of the most important, as if we won, we would have an opportunity in the championship bracket. This game was very back and forth, winning the first set 27-26 (sets capped at 27) and the second set 25-21. The fifth game of the day was another nail bitter, and we took our opponent to three, pulling off a 17-15 win in the third.

Going into the championship match, the girls were very exhausted after already playing five games that day. We ended up losing in two, but still extremely proud of this group of girls for getting second and working so hard! We handed out a few pins throughout the day with Leah being awarded tournament MVP, Lania getting two overpass kill pins, Emma and Gianna both snagging ace pins, and even us coaches getting an ice pin! The improvement seen already in just the past few weeks is fantastic to see, exited to see where this season takes us!

16 WHITE

16 White played in the Fusion Open last weekend. After a slow start vs tough competition, the girls finished strong with a pair of convincing wins to finish 2-2 for the day. Serving became a big emphasis after our December tournament, and it was great to see that quickly become a strength this weekend.

#Shoutout to our pin earners for the weekend: Malia (2 ace pins), Ruby (an amazing overpass kill), and our tournament MVP Aubrie!

16 GOLD

The girls had a great weekend! Started off strong and made it to the championship game with 3 wins 1 loss. We played great teams that brought out some competitive energy for our team.

#shoutout Our tournament MVP is Paige Arentz! She lead our team in aces and kept that service pressure up throughout the whole day, keeping the other teams out of system and putting our team in a great position. She also had some amazing hustle plays and made some exciting saves!

We finished in second place and are so excited to keep growing as a team throughout the season!

16 Boys

This weekend marked the first tournament of the season for our 16 Boys team at the Inferno Joust in Sun Prairie. It was a great opportunity to hit the ground running, work through our rotations, and implement a new offensive system. While the day presented its challenges, the team showed determination and a strong desire to improve.

One key takeaway from the tournament was the critical role of communication on the court. The players quickly realized how impactful clear, consistent communication can be in driving success during matches. The team left the gym with a clear understanding of what we need to work on as we prepare for the next tournament.

We are proud to recognize two standout players from this weekend:

🏐 “Tournament MVP”– Alex

Alex showed exceptional leadership, striving for constant improvement and setting the tone with his work ethic and communication.

🏐 “Serving Professional”– Oliver

Oliver impressed with his serving consistency, making an impact from the service line while demonstrating focus and reliability throughout the day.

The progress made this weekend is only the beginning. We’re excited to build on what we’ve learned and come back stronger for the next tournament!
