2026 Tournament Recaps - Week 10

Badger Region Championships are here! Week 1 of 3 took place and we had two top finishers! Read all about it below.

14 RED

14 Red traveled to Madison this past weekend for the Badger Region Championships. Coming in as the #1 seed and the defending champions for the past two years, the pressure was on!

On Day 1, the girls came out playing strong right from the start. After making a few adjustments to the lineup, we found ourselves trailing 11–19 against Milwaukee Juniors. One quality we admire most about this team as coaches is their resilience and ability to battle until the very end. They did exactly that—fighting their way back to win the game 25–22! The team carried that momentum through the rest of the day and cruised through the remainder of pool play, finishing in 1st place.

#Shoutout to Olive, Maddie, and Londyn, who combined for over 20 aces on the day!

Day 2 brought a much tougher battle. Our first opponent was WI Elite, a team we had played earlier in the Power League but one that has improved a lot since our last matchup. We started a little slow coming off a first-round bye but battled hard throughout the match. In the end, we came up just short in Game 1.

Game 2 was a different story. The team came alive and held WI Elite to under 10 points. Heading into Game 3, we knew it was a must-win. The game started with a few unlucky plays that didn’t go our way, and once again the girls found themselves needing to be resilient—down 4–10. They fought back, battled point by point, and soon found themselves with their backs against the wall at 11–14.

Olive stepped back to serve, and the team locked in around our motto: “Nothing touches our floor.” The girls rallied to tie it 14–14 and eventually pulled out the win 16–14.

That victory earned us a spot in the championship match. The first game was a battle from start to finish. Point for point, both teams competed hard, but we came out on top 25–23. With momentum on our side, the team carried that energy into Game 2 and never let off the gas, cruising to the win.

#Shoutout to Maddie for coming through with big kills when we needed them most! And to Haylee for serving consistently all weekend and delivering huge serving runs in big moments.

She finished the tournament with 10 aces! Not to mention she hit over .350 adding 40 kills.

#Shoutout to our middles, Eden K and Emery, who have been putting in tremendous work all season.

They stepped up in a big way with key blocks, slowed down numerous attacks for our defense, and added some crucial kills.

Congratulations to this team for earning their 3rd Badger Region Championship!

16 WHITE

16 White had a great weekend at the Badger Region Championships! With a really strong showing on Saturday (2-0 in pool play, winning the challenge match, and winning every set), we earned a first-round bye in the Gold bracket and moved straight into the semi-finals. Sunday started with a really hard-fought match vs Wisconsin Blaze. We fell just short in 2 competitive sets, but the girls regrouped quickly to win their final match.

Overall we finished with a 4-1 record, taking 3rd place out of 21 teams, and earning bronze medals! Really proud of our consistent effort and determination this week, especially after some tough results the week before. Every player elevated their game at critical moments, playing in fun and exciting matches all weekend.
