The second wave of the PrepDig Resolutions and a handful of single day events. Let's see how they did in week three!
11 BLACK
This weekend we played at Center Court on Saturday (1/20). The girls started bright and early at 8 am. We unfortunately lost our first match against the Chargers, but would see them again in the gold bracket championship match;)
We then swept the next two teams to get the second seed in the gold bracket! It was an extremely long day playing pool games at 8, 10, and 1, so I am so proud of how the girls fought through their first long day of pool play. We then started our semi-final match against OCVB at 2 pm. We came out with fire beating them 25-22 and 25-13! The girls were extremely excited to enter their first championship match against the Chargers. We had lots of great three-touch plays with aggressive swings. We even had lots of great serves, but unfortunately, it was not enough to get a win. We ended second out of seven teams!
We are looking forward to playing in our first two-day tournament at the Sting Center this coming weekend!

Arriving at Fond du Lac High School to get in as the doors open to being that last team/court playing till 5, THESE GIRLS HAD A LONG DAY. But a long day didn’t stop these 12-year-olds! Going into the second tournament this was still a new and exciting day for all of the players, parents, and coaches! The players learned this weekend that encouraging each other and finding the small things to cheer about are the best to play together and create that fun team energy and chemistry! They also learned that there should always be a purpose with where the ball goes and what you are doing with the ball. Something we worked on in practice is deep free balls to the corner and let's just say that Kennedy Bodus didn’t leave those corners hanging! Another great thing we did this time is Roxy Elhey stepped in and learned everything it takes to be a Libero and rocked that different-colored jersey!
We started the morning playing at 8 we won in two sets, which led up to having a fired-up start to the morning! Bella Masse in the first game earned the first serving pin this year, with Jane Mclntyre then getting an ace pin in the first game as well. After a sitting break and a reffing break, the girls played and won their second game in two sets! This then led them to our final game against Fond du Lac Fusion in the Gold bracket where the girls had a slow start DOWN BY 13! Lauren Strachota and Bella Masse came back with an amazing serving game which led them to win again in two sets and those two girls received an ace pin! This was a game that EVERYONE doubted but we didn’t give up and it paid off in the end.
Going into the Championship game we played a Sting team both teams were VERY evenly matched throughout the whole game! This game was just who could get to 25 first and they were right there with them the whole time with many huge moments and rallies. Kennedy Bodus received her first overpass kill against Sting! Losing in two sets in the Championship, even though they lost the girls were so excited to be able to take home a medal they really deserved and worked so hard for! Our tournament MVP was really hard to decide, all of the girls stood out and had many valuable moments! But we chose Lauren Strachota as our MVP because of her amazing serving and her high energy and intensity that was consistent throughout the whole day. And also her birthday was 1/21/24, HAPPY BIRTHDAY LAUREN.
14 WHITE
14 White attended the FC Elite tournament on Saturday! The day started with a close, but a 0-2 loss. It was a bit of a slow start, but the team fought back in the second game and won 2-0. The first two games were pool play, and after that bracket play started. We ended up in the silver bracket and won our next game 2-1. The first set was lost, but the team started strong in the second and third sets and despite some back and forth, the team kept pushing and won the match. The last game of the day did not end how we hoped, with a 0-2 loss, but there were a lot of great plays throughout the match. We ended the day in second in the silver bracket! Some overall highlights are that Aubryn ended the day with a total of 22 digs, Kennedy had 9 aces and 10 kills, and Josie had a total of 11 block touches/blocks.

17 RED
I AM 17 red played in the Prep Dig 17/18 open division this weekend. We ended up 2-3. We started with pool play and came across Iowa One 17 and 1W Bay 18 National. We did not play up to our potential but fought hard and came back to win both matches. The third set against 1W Bay we were down 3-9 and fought hard to win 15-13. The girls' determination and the want to win really showed on the court that match. I am very proud of the girls and how they had a don’t give up attitude. Our last pool play was against Milwaukee Sting 17 black. The first set we had a slow start and lost 16-25 but the second set we dug deep and really fought hard but lost 21-25. The 2-1 record put us in the championship bracket.
On Sunday our first match was against FC Elite 17 white. The girls played hard this match. We lost the first set 17-25. The girls were determined to take this match to 3 and they did. We won the second set 25-23. The third set we were ready to take it but ended up losing 11-15. Then we had to play Elevate 18 Raging Rhinos and we lost in 2. THe first set we were down 1-9 and fought all the way back to 20-25. The hustle by the back row was amazing. The second set we were in the lead the whole match and we had match point at 24-20 and we just could not find that one point. We ended up losing 25-27.
The girls showed us this weekend how determined they are when it comes to their commitment on the court. Every player showed their passion for the game and exhibited a remarkable level of teamwork and resilience. The energy on the court was amazing as each team member hustled to keep the ball in play. The relentless effort and spirited performance of the volleyball team were a testament to their hard work and the camaraderie that bound them together, making every point hard-fought.

This weekend we headed up to the Champion Center for the Prep Dig Resolution. We
had a very tough weekend trying to find our groove. We really struggled in our first 4
matches of the weekend where we fell short. After some tough losses we were able to
finally pull out a great win in our last match against the Elevate Dragons with scores of
25-13 and 25-21. Regardless of the tough weekend we had, we are so proud of how the
girls ended on a high note and we’re ready to get back into the gym and get to work.
#Shoutout to Lauren for being our team's MVP this weekend where she played absolutely phenomenal and kept her head up no matter what!
